"Did you know that you can look like your listening when you’re not really listening at all? You already knew that. We all have this problem of dishonesty in listening. We can nod; say “mhmm” or “hmm” or “interesting.” Now all of these are cues to the speaker that we are actively engaged in listening, but in reality, we are a thousand miles away in thoughts. Let’s be honest listeners. Go beyond hearing the stream of sound coming out of the speaker’s mouth to truly listen to what he is saying. You never know, you might just learn something.
