so, I don't think I can give you the definitive answer.

but it is totally easy.

the answer is simply f(x) + g(x). you add the expressions of both functions, you sort the terms and simplify things, if possible, and the result is (f + g)(x).

so, for example based on what you wrote here :

4x² + 3x - 2 + 6x³ - 3x (? can that be ?)

6x³ + 4x² - 2
