The width of a rectangle is one-third the length. The perimeter is 48 cm. Find the

length and width.

Answer:

Length=18 Width=6

Explanation:

if the length is x.

thus, the width is 1/3x

∴ (x+1/3x)×2=48

4/3x=48 ÷ 2 = 24

x=24×3/4

=18

thus, 1/3x=1/3x18=6

The length is 18 Cm and the width is 6 Cm.
