What explanation accounts for the observation that the mass of the reactant and the mass of the products in the reaction #2 (closed system) were equal?

If they were not equal why this happened ? Please explain

The conservation of mass. The amount of atoms it starts with and ends with has to be equal. Since atoms cannot be created or destroyed
