Answer:

The Byzantine Empire is south of the Black Sea and is north of the Mediterranean Sea. Constantinople was geographically perfectly located because it was surrounded by bodies of water like the Bosphorus River, Mediterranean Sea and Black Sea which helped with fishing and trading with the entire Roman Empire.
