in kick boxing, it is found that the force needed to break a board varies inversely with the length of the board. If it takes 5 lbs. of pressure to break a board 2 feet long, how many pounds of pressure will it take to break a board that is 8 feet long

Answer:

20

Explanation:

Since we know that it takes 5lbs. to break a 2-foot longboard, we first want to figure out how many pounds it takes to break a 1foot board.

5/2=2.5

It takes 2.5 lbs to break a 1-foot board.

2.5x8=20

It would take 20lbs to break an 8-foot longboard.

Hope this helps :)
