equation: total = 35.75x + 19

to solve for x replace the total with 197.75 and solve for x:

197.75 = 35.75x + 19

Subtract 19 from both sides:

178.75 = 35.75x

Divide both sides by 35.75

X = 5

a total of 5 people can go.
