If 8 is an element in the domain of f(x) = 5x-18 / 2, what is the corresponding element in the range?

\ \ \sf\longmapsto f(x)=(5x-18)/(2)

Now

\ \ \sf\longmapsto f(8)=(5(8)-18)/(2)

  • Simplify

\ \ \sf\longmapsto f(8)=(40-18)/(2)

\ \ \sf\longmapsto f(8)=(22)/(2)

\ \ \sf\longmapsto f(8)=11

The corresponding element in the range is ~

\boxed{11}

\large \boxed{ \mathfrak{Step\:\: By\:\:Step\:\:Explanation}}

Just plug the value of element in domain in the given function ~

we get ~

  • f(x) = (5x - 18)/(2)

  • f(8) = ((5 * 8) - 18)/(2)

  • f(8) = (40 - 18)/(2)

  • f(8) = (22)/(2)

  • f(8) = 11

hence , the corresponding element in the range is ~ 11
