(((Please Help? Tutoring a Friend.))) What would it be like if The Declaration of Independence did NOT occur?

Step One:
Two grievances chosen: Unfair taxes and Not being able to vote for government leaders.

Step Two:
Write a fictional newspaper article about the impact of the two selected grievances on citizens today.
Pretend that the Declaration of Independence never occurred and that these grievances are still problems in society today.
Include a title for your story.
Write at least one paragraph for each grievance you chose in Step One. You should have at least two paragraphs, one for each grievance, when you are finished.

The lack of a unified national government, the absence of a single authority over interstate or foreign commerce, and the failure to include any provisions for generating revenue would have doomed the new nation. Without it our government would have divided as early as Shay's Rebellion.
