What are meiospores?​

The meiospores are haploid spores found in flowers of angiosperms or cones of gymnosperms. The meiospores are of two types: Microspores, the meiospores that give rise to a male gametophyte. Megaspores (or macrospores), the meiospores that give rise to a female gametophyte.
