Radius of outer circle = R = 9 cm

Radius of inner circle = r = 5 cm

Area of the shaded region = area of the outer circle - area of the inner circle.

= πR² - πr²

= π(R² - r²) = 3.14*(9² - 5²)

= 3.14 * (81- 25) = 3.14 * 56

= 175.84 cm²
