In order to complete a reaction, a chemist needs to react 4 moles of aluminum atoms with 3 moles of oxygen molecules. How many grams of aluminum would be required to make this happen?

Answer:

4 Al + 3 O2 → 2 Al2O3

To react with 4 moles of Al, (3×32) g oxygen is required.

So, to react with 2.4 moles of Al, {(3×32)/4} × 2.4 = 57.6 g oxygen is required.
