Carlos took a 3-day car trip. on the second day he drove 360 miles. on the third day he drove 3 times as far as he did on the first day. if his trip was 1080 miles long, how far did Carlos drive on the first?

Answer:

240mi

Explanation:

1080 - 360 = 720

720 / 3 = 240

240 day 1 + 360 day 2 + 720 day 3 = 1080 total
