At the after school Hawk Club meeting, there were four drinks you could choose from: orange soda, Coke, Dr. Pepper, and water. There were three snacks you could choose from: peanuts, fruit, and cookies. Each student may have only one drink and one snack.

Answer: 12 possible choices

Step-by-step explanation: there are 4 drink options, and 3 snack options so using the counting principle we would do 4 x 3 to get 12. You could also check individually since it is not a big number by doing: 1 choice with coke and peanuts, another with coke and fruit, etc.
