So we can set up an equation..

(x + 3) + (x + 9) = 90

2x + 12 = 90

2x = 78

x = 39°

Now we can find the angles.

Angle 1:

(x + 3)

= 39 + 3

= 42°

Angle 2:

(x + 9)

= 39 + 9

= 48°

And we can check to see if they add to 90°,

42° + 48° = 90°
