Today SANSKRIT is no longer widely spoken, but the modern Hindi language is based on it.

Answer: False

Explanation: Not as a native language, no. Sanskrit is a dead classical language, like Latin. Indian nationalists love to spread propaganda stories about Sanskrit being still spoken in some remote villages, but that is obviously not true.
