Explain Archimedes’ principle and give a real life example

Archimedes' Principle states a body immersed in a fluid is subjected to an upwards force equal to the weight of the displaced fluid, basically the principle of Boyance.

A ship sinking, sinks to the level of water it is displacing. If it has cargo on it it will sink further.
