(a) first option and last option

When you combine the first 2 terms you get 4x + 3x. When you combine all the terms together you get 7x.

(b) second option and third option

This equation can also be written as 4 x 1 + 4 x 7y. When you distribute the 4 into the terms in the parentheses you get 4 + 28y
