Using your current language skills and abilities, write directions in French for someone who is an out-of-town visitor. Choose prompt #1 or #2. Create in the language at a level that is comfortable for you.

You are not assessed on accuracy of your directions, but rather your current ability to create with the language. Use your own words and skill sets. Direct use of a translator constitutes plagiarism.

1. Write out the directions to your house (in French) for someone who is visiting. If they start out at the town or city center, how would they get to your house? You should have at least 5 complete and detailed sentences in French.

2. Write in French the directions from your house to your school or your best friend's house. You should have at least 5 complete and detailed sentences in French.

You will be graded on (a) appropriate use of French grammar and vocabulary, (b) completeness and detail of the response, and (c) overall quality of the response.

Answer:

1. first take a right from where we are now, the library, and go straight for about 3 more miles, then make another right, and pull into the neighborhood.

"prenez d'abord à droite d'où nous sommes maintenant, la bibliothèque, et continuez tout droit sur environ 3 miles de plus, puis tournez encore à droite et tirez dans le quartier."

2.

sortez du quartier, et si vous repassez devant la bibliothèque, tournez à gauche et vous passerez devant une grande aire de jeux, et elle se trouve derrière.

get out of the neighborhood, and if you go back past the library, make a left and you will past a big playground, and it is behind it.
