x = ( 6- 3y)/7

then we replace x in the second equation by (6-3y)/7

so 2 [(6-3y)/7] -5y =27

(12-6y)/7 -5y =27

(12- 6y -35y)/7 =27

12- 41y = 27x7

-41y = 189- 12

y = 177/ (-41)

y =-177/41
