take the area of one unshaded circle, multiply by two, and subtract from the area of the whole figure.

Answer:

Explanation:

Area of shaded region = Area of big circle - 2* area of small circle

= π *3² - 2 *π * 1²

= 9π - 2π = 7π

$= 7 *(22)/(7)\\\\\\= 22 \ cm^(2)$
