First find the side of the small triangle. 3^2+2^2=C^2. Then when you find the answer for that side, you have a new a^2+b^2=c^2 you can clearly see that one of the sides is 5 and now you 5^2+the number you got from 3^2+2^2=C^2 = hypotenuse aka dotted line
