1. Turn 1 1/3 into an improper fraction.
2. Now you have 4/3 + 5/6.
3. The LCD of 3 and 6 is 6. Convert 4/3 into 8/6. We multiplied 4/3 by 2 to get the denominator of 6.
4. 8/5 + 5/6 = 13/6
