But for standard of living, it goes hand in hand with urbanization in the sense that although more housing was avaliable and was easier to obtain they were therefore cheaper causing the standard of living to decrease. The same logic goes with working conditions, especially during the beginning of the industrialization movement where child labor was legal and encouraged. Factories offered intense and unforgiving circumstances and were very dangerous. In terms of urbanization and industry tycoons, they were at an all time high and caused the economy to boom as it had never done before. Of course, as stated before it is up to a matter of opinion as to whether the trade off of individual living versus working for corporations was worth it.
