Explanation:

Considering the area of the 2 right angled triangles

Area of two triangles

=2 [1/2 x base x height]

=base x height

=8 x 6

=48 ft2

Area of two big rectangles

=2 [length x width]

=2 [10 x 7]

=2 x 70

=140 ft2

Area of small rectangle (base of figure)

= length x width

=7 x 6

=42 ft2

Total surface area

=sum of all areas

= 42 + 140 + 48

=230 ft2
