The Native Americans were threatened by settlement in the Great Plains because the people who moved to this foreign land wanted to gain the land. Evidence? Well, at page 82 first paragraph Congress wanted to make the Natives live in a reservation area because they wanted to gain the area originally from Natives. Americans were very thirsty for land. They thought by giving them reservation land they Natives would be their friend but it was opposite. In the end the Native Americans were threatened greatly by settlers.
