Newton's first law asserts that if a body is at rest or moving in a straight path at a constant speed, it will remain at rest or continue to move in a straight line at a constant speed until acted upon by a force.

According to the second law, an object's acceleration is determined by two variables: the net force acting on the object and the mass of the item.

If object A exerts a force on object B, object B must respond with a force of equal magnitude and in the opposite direction.
