1.86 10^5 miles/second and 6.71 10^8 miles/hour

Explanation:

You would take 186,000 and add a decimal in front of the 1, so it would be 1.86000, and then you want to count the numbers in front of that decimal, since there is five it would be "10^5".

For the second you do the same thing.

1st:

  1. 186,000
  2. 1.86000
  3. 1.86 10^5

2nd:

  1. 671,000,000
  2. 6.71000000
  3. 6.71 10^8
