27 Gallons

Step-by-step explanation:

2/9 of the container is already full, 12 gallons are added. After the 12 gallons are added, 6/9 is full.
12g (gallons) = 4/9 so,
12g + 12g = 24g or 8/9
1/9 = 3g
12g + 12g + 3g = 27 Gallons!!
