Simplify the left side:

  • (2 + √3)/(2 - √3) =
  • (2 + √3)(2 + √3)/(2 + √3)(2 - √3) =
  • (4 + 4√3 + 3)/(4 - 3) =
  • 7 + 4√3

Compare with the right side:

  • a = 7, b = 4
