Answer:

y=4x-9

Explanation:

Slope-intercept form is y=mx+b where y is the y vale, m is the slope, x is the x value and b is the y-intercept.

We need to find the slope and y-intercept.

To find slope we will do rise/run

If we start from (3,3) and go up 4 and over 1 we get to (4,7)

4 over 1 is also 4

So m=4 or slope is 4

Now lets find the y-intercept

We can plug in our values and solve for b

3=4*3+b

3=12+b

-9=b

y-intercept is -9

so our answer will be y=4x-9

Answer:

y = 4x -9

Explanation:

The equation of this line is requested in slope-intercept form. The y-intercept is off the bottom of the graph, so we much develop the equation from what we can see.

Exact values are best determined from points where the line crosses grid intersections. We observe two of those are (1, -5) and (2, -1). The slope formula can tell us the slope:

m = (y2 -y1)/(x2 -x1)

m = (-1 -(-5))/(2 -1) = 4/1 = 4

The formula for the y-intercept can be used with the first point:

b = y -mx

b = -5 -4(1) = -9

Then the equation of the line y = mx +b is ...

y = 4x -9
