British Literature Survey: Essay

The goal of the essay for this course is to express an interpretation of one of the texts from this course through an analysis of its language. This is not a research paper; I am interested in hearing your own thoughts and reasoning regarding the meaning of one of these texts. It is possible to cover more than one text from class, but you must run that by me first. There are no prompts for this assignment; any line of inquiry is acceptable as long as it offers a clear argument about some aspect of meaning of one of the texts we have covered in class. The essay will be graded as follows:​

Essentially, this prompt is asking you to review one (or more) of the readings your class has done. The teacher wants you to share your thoughts and feelings on the text. Analyze it, then present your analysis in the form of an essay. Hope this helps.
