Terms:- The legislative branch of the U.S. government is called Congress. Congress has two parts, the Senate and the House of Representatives. Congress meets in the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, DC.

Budget session: January/February to May.
Monsoon session: July to August/September.
Winter session: November to December.
