notice you have 4 triangles. Take advantage of that!

the formula for a triangle:


(base * height)/(2)

the triangles on the left side are the same so

2 * (
(42.7 * 16.3)/(2)) = 696.01 cm^2

I multiplied it by 2 because there are two corresponding triangles.

on the right side it's the same:

2 *
(22.5 * 16.3)/(2) = 366.75 cm^2

Now add those values: 696.01 + 366.75 = 1,062.76 cm^2

make sure you round to the nearest square centimetre: then the answer is 1063 cm^2.

You could also use the area of a rhombus.
