A Rabbit can hop 6 feet in 2 seconds and 12 feet in 4 seconds. If the number of feet varies directly with the time the rabbit spends hopping, at what speed is the rabbit hopping? (Hint: finds the constant of variation)

2. Write a direct variation equation for problem number 1.

Explanation:

1. The rabbit would be hopping at 3 feet per second.

You would first:

1. Divide each sides by 2

This would result into 3 = 1.

2. Given, 6 = 2.

If we said feet (6) = x and 2 (seconds) = y,

x = y or

feet = second (6 = 2).
