(3p-p)/(2-(-8))= -3

2p/10= -3

2p= -30

p= -15

Answer:

-15

Explanation:

Given that a line has a slope of -3 and passes through the points (-8,p) and (2,3p) . And we need to find out the value of p . As we know that the slope is ,

\longrightarrow\sf slope = y_2-y_1/x_2-x_1

Substituting the respective values ,

\longrightarrow -3 = (p - 3p)/(-8-2)

Simplify ,

\longrightarrow -3 = -2p/-10

\longrightarrow -3 = p/5

\longrightarrow p = 5 * -3

\longrightarrow p = -15

Hence the value of p is -15 .
