As we know, slope intercept is: y = mx + b

m is slope and b is the y-intercept.

Looking at this problem, we can see that the line crosses the y-axis at positive 2, so that is our y-intercept. For the slope, take a point like the y-intercept, and see how many squares is has to go up before it reaches the next square to the right. In this problem the line goes up 2 squares in the time it takes to go to the right 1. So the slope is y over x, or 2 over 1, or just 2.
