Answer:

f(x) = x + 2

Explanation:

The standard form of a linear function is

f(x) = ax + b

Given f(0) = 2 ( that is when x = 0 , f(x) = 2 ) , then

2 = a(0) + b = b ⇒ b = 2

Given f(2) = 4 ( that is when x = 2, f(x) = 4 ) , then

4 = 2a + b = 2a + 2 ( subtract 2 from both sides )

2 = 2a ( divide both sides by 2 )

1 = a

Linear function is then f(x) = x + 2
