The formula for the area of a triangle is A = -bh, in which b represents the
length of the base and h represents the height. If a triangle has an area of 140
mm2 and the height is 14 mm, what is the measure of the base?

Answer:

20mm

Explanation:

The problem gives A=140mm^2 and h=14mm

It also gives the equation A=1/2bh

Plug in what you know --> 140=1/2(b)(14)

To solve for b, fist multiply 140 by 2

Now we have 280=14b

Divide by 14, and you get your answer of b=20mm
