Explanation:

you need a common denominator

you multiply 5/12 by 2 the top and the bottom to get 10/24

then you multiply 3/8 by 3 the top and the bottom to get 9/24

10/24>9/24

Convert the fractions to regular numbers so 5/12 just do 5 ÷ 12 and 3/8 do 3 ÷ 8 whatever side has the arrow opened to means that's should be the bigger number for example 2 > 1 is true because 2 is greater than 1 but 2 < 1 is false
