Hey there!

x/2 + 6 = 24

1/2x + 6 = 24

SUBTRACT 6 to BOTH SIDES

1/2x + 6 - 6 = 24 - 6

CANCEL out/ 6 - 6 because it give you 0

KEEP: 24 - 6 because it help solve for the x-value

NEW EQUATION: 1/2x = 24 - 6

SIMPLIFY IT!

1/2x = 18

MULTPLY 2 to BOTH SIDES

1/2x * 2 = 18 * 2

CANCEL out: 1/2 * 2 because it give you 1

KEEP: 18 * 2 because it help solve for the x-value (it actually give you the x-value)

NEW EQUATION: x = 18 * 2 or x = 2 * 18

SIMPLIFY IT!

x = 36

Therefore, your answer is: x = 36

Good luck on your assignment & enjoy your day!
