What is the point slope form of the line with slope -1/4 that passes through the point (-2,9)?​

Answer:

slope = -1/4

using the formula

y -y1 = m(x -x1)

y -9 = -1/4(x- (-2))

y -9 = -1/4(x +2)

cross multiply

4(y -9) = -1 ( x +2)

4y -36 = -x -2

4y = -x -2+ 36

4y = -x +34

divide the both sides by 4

y = -1/4x +34/4

y = -1/4x +17/2(equation of the line)
