Malek's dog-walking service charges a flat rate of $24 per month, plus $2 per mile that each

dog is walked. Bob does not charge a monthly fee for his dog-walking service, but he charges
$5 per mile that each dog is walked. Write and solve an equation to find the number of miles
m for which Malek and Bob would charge the same amount.

Answer:

24+2m=5m.

Explanation:

The flat rate of Malek's is 24. He charges 2 per mile so 2m. Bob charges only 5$ per mile for the dogs, so it is 5*m.

The solution to the equation 24+2m=5m would be m=8

2m+24=5m

2m=5m-24

-3m=-24

m=8
