  • \sf{length=28~ft }

  • \sf{width=7~ft}

Explanation:

The length of a rectangle is four times its width.

If the perimeter of the rectangle is 70 ft,

let the width =x

length =4width=4x

According to the question,

the perimeter of the rectangle is 70 ft

  • 2(length+width)=perimeter
  • 2(4x+x)=70
  • 2(5x)=70
  • 10x=70
  • x=70/10
  • x=7

Therefore:-

width =x=7ft

length =4x=4×7=28ft

Let width be x

  • length=4x

ATQ

\\ \sf\longmapsto 2(x+4x)=70

\\ \sf\longmapsto 5x=35

\\ \sf\longmapsto x=7

  • Width=7ft
  • Length=7(4)=28ft
