Answer:

y=-x-8

Explanation:

Slope intercept form is in the general form

y=mx+b such that
m is the slope of the line, and that
b is the y-intercept of that line.

The equation for slope can be denoted as any of those below

m=(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) ) Where the y and x terms are from two ordered pairs

m=(rise)/(run), such that rise is the vertical change in a line, and run the run is the horizontal change

Work!

In this case, since we are given nothing but a line, we should use
m=(rise)/(run)

Since the graph goes down by 1 for every 1 distance to the right, the change in rise of y (-1) divided by the run of x (1) means that
m=-1

We now have
y=-x+b

Since b is the y-intercept, according to the graph
b=-8

This leaves you with the final answer of
y=-x-8

Hope this helps! :)

Answer:

y = -x - 8

Explanation:

I don't know what it means by "fully symplified", but this is how I would answer.

Hope this helps, and if not, I'm sorry!
