add 3 to both sides

|x-2|>8

x-2>8

x>10

There are 2 answers because it is absolute value.

It can't be 10, so the only other option is -6.

|x-2|>8

|-6-2|=8

|-8|=8

Apply absolute rule. If |u| > a, u < -a

because one of the answers is -6, it has to be x<-6
