Answer:

\huge\boxed{\bf\:x = -(4)/(3)}

Explanation:

9x ^ { 2 } +24x+20=4

Bring 4 to the left hand side of the equation .

9x^(2)+24x+20-4=0

Subtract 4 from 20.

9x^(2)+24x+16=0

Now, factorise it using the splitting-the-middle-term method .

9x^(2)+24x+16=0 \\9x^(2)+12x+12x+16 =0\\\left(9x^(2)+12x\right)+\left(12x+16\right)=0 \\3x\left(3x+4\right)+4\left(3x+4\right) =0\\\left(3x+4\right)\left(3x+4\right) = 0\\\left(3x+4\right)^(2) = 0

Now since both the factors are the same, take one of them,

3x + 4 = 0\\3x = - 4\\\boxed{\bf\:x = -(4)/(3)}

  • 9x²+24x+20=4
  • (3x)²+2(3x)(4)+20-4=4-4
  • (3x)²+2(3x)(4)+16=0
  • (3x)²+2(3x)(4)+4²=0
  • (3x+4)²=0
  • 3x+4=0
  • x=-4/3
