m = y2 - y1/x2 - x1
m = 4 — -4/6 - 8
m = 8/-2
m = 4/-1
m = -4
Parallel slopes are the same
m = -4
b = ?
Replace x and y values of the point into slope intercept formula
y = mx + b
-9 = -4(2) + b
-9 = -8 + b
-9 + 8 = b
b = -1
Write final equation
y = -4x - 1
