first step : we have to expand the term in L.H.S


  • (x + 3)(x - 5)

  • {x}^(2) - 5x + 3x - 15

  • {x}^(2) - 2x - 15

now, let's equate the equations to find the value of m :


  • {x}^(2) - 2x - 15 = {x}^(2) + mx - 15

value of m = -2
