A lake in the spring
Is a marvellous thing
Changes are on the way
The winter chills cease
with sunlight’s increase.
Cool waters cover the bay.
Water moves round
From surface to ground
Water is mixed this way
Spring storms bring rain
Lake water does gain
With nutrients caught in the fray
Tiny creatures abound
‘Cause algae’s around
The food chain is boosted this way.
